I could not help today thinking about sin.

Norm, how does your security work equate to thinking about sin? Well, part of my job is to research vulnerabilities that may impact the health of our systems. Every day, I visit a several websites to see what new bad stuff, and old bad stuff, is out there. Now I evaluate the bad stuff and take a deep look into the systems to see how it might effect its health. After that I must recommend a way to fix or prevent that bad stuff from entering the system or infecting other parts or other systems. Sometimes it is too late, and the bad stuff corrupts the system, if left there the system is for sure going to die. Immediate actions or steps must be taken to remove the bad stuff, put up new protections, and restore the system back to health.

Perhaps if we as Christians look deep into our system (heart) each day and evaluate everything we think, do, say with an approach of how it will effect our heart with the Lord. We may be able to prevent sin from making our heart unhealthy and think of ways to put protections in place to ensure our hearts stay healthy.

Maybe, if we all approached life this way, our Country would not be in such mess.

Pursuant to the post below, I began to purge my piles of clutter. I guess a good rule of thumb is to deal with newspapers, magazines, email and regular mail immediately upon receipt thereof. I'm going to try to do that better

Here is a thought provoking quote I came across just now in my archaeological dig-

"The rarely used objects cluttering our lives are not really objects at all, but symbols of our plans and untapped potential. They may be called 'artifacts of unused life'."

Just wondering what other people do to manage their home office space with regards to multiple projects. Do you create bins? Use drawers? Devote file cabinet space? Use bureaus/chest of drawers? If it's all binder material, that's easy. But projects that include oversize and different size materials that don't fit neatly into a file folder or binder - what do you do? I'm looking for creative ideas that work well.

The background on the question has to do with my home study / home office:

I've just moved my furniture (filing cabinets, bookcases, desks and computer) to make enough functional room to accomodate three desks in one 9'x12' bedroom. One desk is for working on paper crafting projects. The next is for my writing. The third is the business desk with the computer. I emptied the sliding door closet behind the business desk and put my bookcases (with books, binders, mail supplies) in the closet. I just turn around and have easy access to these items. But I'm still working on the project management aspect. For now I use file carry cases and plastic craft drawers, but I'm thinking there might be a better way.

I have added more material to my new website, EcclesiastiCAL [below] The material is about Anglcain/Episcopal Church. This makes for a very limited readership. Perhaps I should expand it to include essays about other church's matters as well. What do you think.

Norm is going to help me shape the site up. All suggestions are welcome. How about podcasting?

Thanks

Dad

Books, Articles Read : Modern Art and Death of a Culture by Hans Rookmaaker
Third time through this one- very helpful in understanding what Modern Art is, where it came from and what it reveals (literally) about our modern culture

Brainstorming: this exercise is that

Computer Games: I do not play any

Family Happenings: went to wonderful concert with mother, Dave & Melissa to hear Caitlin and a few of her talented friends play great music. I wrote all about it on my Blog

Family Web Links: http://www.greatbuildings.com/architects/Frank_Gehry.html

Favorite Fiction: have not been reading any lately

Hobbies: walking (I consider my Blogging, emailing and website a real Ministry, not a hobby)

Info Security: I ask Norm

Movies or DVDs: Monday night we enjoyed Born Yesterday with Judy Holliday

Music and Arts: see above about the concert; also enjoyed listening to Caitlin’s first CD, done as a duet with a friend; I also found this website recently http://www.garageband.com/ check out the Jazz category. I enjoyed Brazilian violinist Ricardo Hertz

Personal Finance: time to do taxes

Science and Tech: I read 3 websites this week about how to do pod casting and decided I don’t have the aptitude or time to get involved right now

Sports: we have enjoyed watching the Patriots and expect them to beat the Giants. Sorry about the Chargers

Hi Loren,

A How To on "Add media". I use a folder on my Hard Drive (like C:\Upload) that I call "Upload ". I put any files I want to load on the Internet in that folder. It's easy to find - for me and for the "browse" feature in "Add media". Make sure you don't put the pictures in the Base Directory - select Photos (for pics) or Clipart (for graphics).

After you do the above, then start a New Entry and from inside the text box at where you want to put a picture, click on the Manage Images icon next to the Insert Table icon. Click on the picture you want and specify if you want the thumbnail (smaller) version or the full picture you've uploaded.

Hope that works for you.

Kevin

Think before you speak. Listen to what you are saying. Be quick to apologize. Senator John Kerry perhaps should practice all of these. Good advise for just about all of us.

We have freedom of speech but with it we must be willing to accept the consequences.

Remember the Dixie Chicks, they stuck to their belief of free speech, but were upset about others who responded by destroying, not buying, or not playing their music, an act of free speech. Free speech has consequences both positive and negative.

Oh buy the way, we would not have Free(dom) speech, without those who are and have sacrificed themselves for it. God Bless the Active Troops and all Veterans.

I am not complaining but here is a suggestion concerning long entries. If you notice when you create a blog entry there are two boxes to type in. One being the Entry Body and the lower one being the Extended body.

Blogs were designed to catch the reader with a short paragraph in the Entry Body and continue with the longer entries in the extended body. Leaving more topics on the main page.

On the flip side it does make it easier to read all the entries by scrolling down, when we use only the top Entry body.

In short, continue posting in whatever fashion you desire. Glad to see a post from CAITLIN, even if highly encouraged by her dad. Oh by the way where is your posting Dave?
