Just finished playing through the Very Easy level of the game called Chrome (a Strategy First game). It's an okay FPS game. Apparently the multiplayer version is better, when it is player vs. player.

The greatest frustrations are in two areas: no way to calibrate the accuracy of the weapons (can point directly at a target and miss it repeatedly) and whenever the character must jump a track, it's a hit or miss deal as well (at the top of a ladder onto a platform or from a ridge into a pipe). Need to quick save just before attempting jumps.

The greatest enjoyment though is in completing complex objectives across fantastic terrain with excellent sound and visual effects. Snow crunching at each step, rain drops falling all around, trees rising up a hundred feet, and planetary bodies floating in the skies above. Wow.

It is not quite as good as Far Cry (Ubisoft), but enjoyable none the less. I purchased my copy from Amazon.com.

Update: I finished the game and beat all levels!

I can still hear the noise from the long gone Riverside Park Speedway, in Agawam Mass. I remember as kid standing on the second floor of Hall Street, on the back porch. Listening the the thunder of the racecars screaming around the 1/4 mile oval. The track used to be now where Six Flags New England's Superman Rollercoaster is located.

I have been waiting many years for the online gaming/racing simulator community to develop a game or a modification of a current racing simulator game to allow for Nascar Modifieds. I also remember going to Stafford Motor Speedway and Thompson Motor Speedway, both in Conn. Today, I found out it is coming and soon. Looks like it may be time to dust off my steering wheel and pedals.
